Can someone give me a brief description of the different departments of Amtsgruppe B and D of the SS-Hauptamt?

Not really my cup of tea but in Amtsgruppe D was section II (Germanische Leitstelle),which was liason office between SS and other countries.The sections in Amtsgruppe D were:

I-Planung
II-Germanische Leitstelle
III-Freiw.Leitstelle Ost
IV-Verwaltung
V-Germanische-SS
VI-Germanische Erziehung Germannische Leithefte.

These sections were divited also in sub-sections in true bureoratic style.

Thanks Juha, I already know the names of the different departments but I need a description of them, i.e. what they worked with, as well as a list of the responsible officers for the different departments.

Daniel -- In my notes I have Max Kopischke as the chief of SSHA Amt D II for Germanic Education (Germanische Ergänzung) and under him, Johannes Gustke as the head of Amt D II/1a for the Germanic SS in the Reich (Germanische-SS im Reich). Unfortunately, that's all I have on the department and sub-department chiefs of the SSHA.

Also controlled by Amtsgruppe D was the Germanische Schutzstaffel Haus Germanien Hildesheim Politische Führerschule,commanded by SS-Sturmbannführer Peter Paulsen.

Swiss affairs were managed by Amtsgruppe DI/3 of the SS main office under H.Bueler and Paul Benz.

Mauno Jokipii's book Panttipataljoona says that chief adjutant of SS-Hauptamt was Eckstein.No rank is mentioned.

Jokipii also says that SS-HA Amt VI 1d was responsible of "Germanic education" (Germanische Leithefte).It published same named magazine and was commanded by SS-Oberführer Dr.Jakobsen.

unfortunately Gustke and Kopischke are already noted on Marcus chart. If anyone can provide any more information, particulary on Amtsgruppe B, I would really appreciate it.

Hi Georges,

when was SS-Gruf. Waechter Chef of the Amtsgruppe B? I can not find this position in Waechters SS personal file. I think SS-Gruf. Jürs was Chef of the Amtsgruppe B and of the Amt B I from 00.08.1943 to 28.04.1945.
I think also SS-Staf. Spaarmann was 11.12.1944 - 00.00.1945 Stabsführer of the Amtsgruppe D and Chef des Amtes D I im SS-Hauptamt.

According to Kurt Mehner Amtsgruppe B existed as of 19.02.1943.
He gives SS-Gruf.Heinrich Jürs as Chef 15.05.1943-01.12.1944) and also
Chef B I(15.05.1943-01.12.1944). He was probably Chef until his death on
28.04.1945

I made a mistake : Amtsgruppe D and not Amtsgruppe B
(with SS Gruf Dr Waechter ) and the sub units.
