Another von Eberstein Pic
Attached was taken late 1930's
I think 6 from left is Michael Faist, 8 is von Eberstein, 13 Wilhelm Schepmann, 15 Carl Zenner and Theodor Berkelman on the right. Can anybody help with any of the others could the man on the right be Emil Klein?

Re: Another von Eberstein Pic
Hello to all!
Comeback to old photo I want to make a few adjustments: SS-Of. at the right hand of von Eberstein it's Walter Burghardt (Abschnitt II) and moustached officer beside Berkelmann it's Fritz Schlegel (z.b.V. Führer OA Mitte(Elbe)) Perhaps the transfer of authority ceremony from Eberstein to Berkelmann?
Best wishes
Ruslan

Re: Another von Eberstein Pic
Michal,
I love these post-war photos. Karl von Eberstein wrote numerous letters at the end of the war complaining to the authorities that his serious heart condition was causing health problems and for that reason he should not be a POW. He complained continuously that the poor food, poor POW conditions and inability to see his family regularly would aggravate his heart problems and would kill him. He was eventually released in 1948 without major penalty (other than a heavy fine) even though Dachau concentration camp was within his area of authority. His heart lasted out for another 31 years until his death in 1979!

Re: Another von Eberstein Pic
Great photos, Max's SS Corps book has some great pics of him too. Are there other sources also for pics and a biography. The best I have read are Max and Michael's great books on the SS Leaders.
Kind regards.

Nice photo of Eberstein with a good profile view of Röhm (looks like he's late for a trimming at the barber's).
