What about one of the character, the SS officer in Holocaust book? Did this man inspired the writer? What is true or false?
No Wilfred, is false.
The character of Erik Dork is a totally fiction. I remember a old interview to Gerald Green (The author of Holocaust) and he said that the main characters of the book are from his invention, except off course the historical people. But in almost the novel he made a great mistakes.
* Artur Nebe never made a invitation to the Reichsführer to see his great job in Russia. Himmler personally did the date to see the operation because the level of Nebe like Chief of the Einsatzgruppen was low and bad.
* The Meeting in Posen, in Holocaust is a little meeting into a room, around a circle table with a recorder on the table. In the scene appear Blobel, Dorf (Drunk) and the others characters talking. This scene in fake. The famous (or infamous) meeting was into a theater not around a table.
* Warsaw Guetto scene... nothing to do with the reality, etc.
* The last scene in Auschwitz between Dorf and Josef Kramer is really pathetic and the real Kramer is totally diferent.
And the description of Haydrich is baaaaad
