I saw a post from somebody looking for information on this unit and asking what it was but I cant see it now.

This was just a mobile medical Xray unit which was formed for the welfare of SS members pre-war particularly part-time SS men who worked in heavy industry factories.

It was subordinated to SS-Hauptamt and was formed by SS-Ostubaf Konrad Perwitzschky and next commanded by SS-Oberf. Dr. Hans Holfeder (Professor of Medicine - University Frankfurt/Main).

It had 300-400 members and visited every Allgemeine-SS Oberabschnitte to make routine health checks with portable X-ray equipment. When the war started it was taken into the Waffen-SS medical service.

Dr Holfelder from Reichswissenschaft Ministerium is not the same man

Handbuch uber den Preuss Staat 1938 list 2 different men :

1° Ministerialrat Dr Holfelder Amtschef MInisterialamt of the R u P Ministerium fur Wissenschaft, Erziehung und Volksbildung

2° Ordentiche Prof Dr holfelder from Med. Fakultat of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universitat Frankfurt a Main

Hello Georges,

Thanks for the correction. I did find the info from Holfelder somewhere on the net and I thought this was written there as well regarding Dr. Hans Holfelder. But most likely I read it wrong.....

Maybe the Holfelder who was with Reichswissenschaftsministerium was Prof. Dr. Albert Holfelder???


Regarding Prof. Dr. Hans Holfelder I also found the following:

Thanks for the info about the Holfelder-brothers, didn't know that, although I suspected it.
But I didn't find it on Wikipedia, so where did you see this???

Found something more about Hans Holfelder.
He was Ehrenmitglied der Rumnischen Gesellschaft für Röntgenologie und Elektromedizin.
