Hi!

That's an interesting pic of Clausius as a Generalleutnant. Can anyone please give a bio of his Heer career?

Regards,

VJK

The photo is from book "Die Ritter des Ordens Pour le mérite" (Biblio Verlag) but Clausius was not Generalleutnant.

His Heer career:
22.03.1890 Eintritt in das Infanterie-Regiment 59, 23.03.1890 Charakter als Portepeefähnrich, 20.08.1891 Sekondeleutnant (01.01.1899 umernannt zum Leutnant), Bataillonsadjutant (4 Jahre); 16.12.1899 Oberleutnant, 01.04.1906 in das Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 167 (Kassel) versetzt, 18.05.1907 - 26.01.1910 Kompaniechef im Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 167, 18.05.1907 Hauptmann, 27.01.1910 - 00.08.1914 Kompaniechef im Kurhessischen Infanterie-Regiment „von Wittich“ Nr. 83 (Kassel), 02.08.1914 als Chef der MG-Kompanie des Infanterie-Regiments 83 ins Feld gerückt, 00.08.1914 - 11.04.1917 Kommandeur des III. Bataillons des Infanterie-Regiments 83, 28.11.1914 Major; 00.00.1916 - 00.00.1917 (Winter) zugleich Leiter der deutsch-österreichischen Feldkriegsschule an der Ostfront; 12.04.1917 - 00.00.1918 Kommandeur des Infanterie-Regiments 83, 12.04.1918 Oberstleutnant; 15.10.1918 Pour le mérite; 01.01.1919 Offizier von der Armee, 31.03.1920 als 29% Kriegsbeschädigter aus dem aktiven Dienst verabschiedet, 18.03.1940 Charakter als Oberst

Hi AnDie!

Thanks for the bio. It would appear then, that the pic cannot be of Clausius, because he is clearly wearing the collar tabs of a General and the shoulder tabs of a Generalleutnant. Also, there is no Pour le Merite.

Thank you, AnDie! :D

Two more questions regarding Clausius:

1) Birthplace?
2) NSDAP-Nr.?
3) Cause of death?

Thanks in advance :)

I have some problem with Clausius's career details.

He joined to SS 1. Juli 1934 (01.07.1934). But he was SS-Hauptsturmführer 01.06.1934. Backdate of promotion ???

According of SS-DAL 01/12/1937, I found the following entries for Clausius

Haupsturmführer 01.06.1934
Sturmbannführer 09.11.1934
Obersturmbannführer 09.11.1935
Standartenführer 30.01.1936
Oberführer 13.09.1937
