I would, suggest that the difference reflects the importance of the post which decreased somewhat from 1940 as the number of camps increased. Can I ask about Norbert Scharf was he Kdt temporary 4.7.34 - 19.10.34 probably deputising for EickeWilfried Abenaschon wrote:Hi,Luca wrote: SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Hilmar Wackerle, April 1933 - June 1933

Re: KL Kommandants and KZ/KL
Long time no see....
I had to wake this old thread of mine when I read something that cought my memory regarding if or if not
Alexander Reiner served as Kdt of the KL Dachau.
I now know why different sources say either way. It was very simple, in the book "Das war Dachau" by Stanislav Zámecnik
So to end I can say that Reiner was only Kdt on the paper, and never acually commanded the Camp.
Best regards,
Georg

What about Richard Thomalla? Was he appointed as a commander of Sobibor before SS-Hauptsturmführer Franz Stangl as well as in Treblinka before SS-Obersturmführer Irmfried Eberl?
