panzermahn,

There was a concentrated effort to attract the nobility to the SS, it didn't just happen.

Looks like the most important royal is not listed SS Obergruppenführer Josias Erbprinz zu Waldeck-Pyrmont. His mother was Bathildis von Schaumberg-Lippe, she had three sisters. Marie married Wilhelm King of Wurttemburg. Emma who married the King of Netherlands, her daughter became Queen Wilhelmina. Helene married Leopold son of Englands Queen Victoria, her daughter married Prince Alexander of Teck brother of the later Queen Mary of England So Waldeck was very well connected.

Hi Philmil,
the relationships are to be continued:
Josias Waldeck-Pyrmont married Altburg Herzogin von Oldenburg (* 19.05. 1903 Oldenburg; daughter of the last reigning grand duke Friedrich August von Oldenburg ; sister of the later SA-Standartenführer Nikolaus Erbgroßherzog von Oldenburg).

In 1937 Queen Wilhelmina's daughter Juliana married with Bernhard zu Lippe-Biesterfeld. Bernard was the elder son of Prince Bernhard von Lippe and Baroness Armgard von Sierstorpff-Cramm. Before he was married with Juliana he was member of the SS (not Waffen SS).
