What did a life sentence actually mean in Poland.

Were they released after 25 years to return to Germany or did they die in Polish Prisons in the 1970's, 80's and 90's/

I am enquiring about the Krakow Auschwitz Garrison Trial in 1947 because I would like to confirm the dates of the trial if anyone could help please.

First, Wikipedia shows : Auschwitz Trial

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auschwitz_trial

Krakow Auschwitz Trial started on : 24 November 1947

Krakow Auschwitz Trial ended on : 22 December 1947

Krakow Auschwitz Trial executions on : 28 January 1948

Here is the problem : Wikipedia : "Krakow Auschwitz Trial executions on : 28 January 1948"

But, when the details are checked for those who were executed some have "death dates" of 24 January 1948 and some have the 28 January 1948 !

For example :

Arthur Liebehenschel died 24 January 1948
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Liebehenschel

Hans Aumeier died 28 January 1948
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Aumeier

Maximilian Grabner died 28 January 1948
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilian_Grabner

Maria Mandl died 24 January 1948
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Mandl

etc etc

So, I am confused here !

Wikipedia states : "All executions were carried out on January 28, 1948 at the Kraków Montelupich Prison, ..."

Yet we have death dates of the 24 January AND 28 January !

Does anyone have a definitive, reliable source for the date of executions after the Krakow Auschwitz Garrison Trial ?

Were they all executed on the 24th January or the 28th or did the exeuctions take place on more than one day ?

Thank you.

Mainly the book by E. Kobierska-Motas: "Ekstradycja przestępców wojennych do Polski z czterech stref okupacyjnych Niemiec: 1946–1950", (Extradition of War Criminals from the Four Occupation Zones of Germany to Poland 1946-1950), Warszawa 1991 (IPN publication).

As far i remember the date of the executions as 24 January 1948 is mentioned also in others, various, old Polish publications.
