Sorry Marcus, I cannot help you besides stating that he was only Stubaf. AFAIK - but I want to take the opportunity to ask if anyone knows if Keitel is still alive?Marcus Wendel wrote:I'm looking for a photo of SS-Oberstrumbannführer Karl-Heinz Keitel, son of Generalfeldmarschall Wilhelm Keitel, thanks.

Karl-Heinz Keitel
Hallo, Marcus.
I have no photo of him, but I just assembled the following incomplete biographical sketch based on documentation from his SS-Personalakte (personnel file). Source: John P. Moore, Führerliste der Waffen-SS, Disk #3.
Last promotion indicated in his SS-Personalakte is SS-Sturmbannführer, though he could have received a very late war promotion to Obersturmbannführer that was not reflected in the SS file [a common occurrence toward the End].
Best wishes,
~ Mike

NSDAP-Nr.: (Unknown, but a document in his SS-Personalakte indicates he was a “Pg” [Parteigenosse / “Party Comrade”])

The truth is that you're a quiet, sensitive type, but if I'm prepared to take a chance I might just get to know the inner you: witty, adventurous, passionate, loving, loyal, a little bit crazy, a little bit bad, but, hey, don't us girls just love that?

There was no Heeres-Kavallerie-Regiment in Italy...so in which unit he was really in 1944??

Re: Karl-Heinz Keitel
Timofeo Domanov's Cossack unit operated in northern Italy, apart from the main body of the Cossacks led by Helmuth von Pannwitz, that was in Croatia. Perhaps Keitel was a liaison officer to Domanov?

Re: Karl-Heinz Keitel
Hi Guys,
One wonders why he transferred across to the SS on 5 August 1944?
Perhaps the Keitel clan thought it wise to affirm their loyalty after the Bomb Plot.
Was he the son or stepson of Keitel, or am I confusing him with General Fromm's son?
Cheers,
Sid.

This is a better quality picture of Karl-Heinz Keitel. The author misspelled him as Ernst-Alexander Paulus, GFM Paulus son...

Re: Karl-Heinz Keitel
Hi,
The last pic is in the book DIe letzte Schlacht by Erich Kern Schütz-Verlag 1972
Is there any doubt on the identification of this Sturmbannführer?
The last book of Mark C.Yerger on GCiG of the SS Cavalry doesn't contain any photo of K.H. Keitel.
Regards
Patrick
