Was watching 'der Untergang' last night, there's a scene which depicts his suicide via handgrenades at the family dinner table...

Old thread....

I found after that I am searching all the DRK Vermissten listen the first SS-Ogruf . But according to some sources Ernst Schmauser was executed on dec 12, 1945 by the russians. Source for that? Is it pherhaps an old SS-Officer who came back in 55-56 who gave the final fate of Schmauser or? But according to the DRK he is missed in acction.
