Dear all

I have some different dates about Georg Altner:

Polizeipräsident von Plauen:
May 1938 - Apr. 1945 oder 7.1937
Führer des SS-Abschnitt XVI
22.7.1931 - 20.3.1933 22 oder 7.1933 - 203.1934
Führer der 26. SS-Standarte
5.11.1931 - 22.7.1933 oder 15.11.1931 - 22 7.1933
Mitglied des Reichstages (Wahlkreis 31, Württemberg):
5.1936 - 12. Apr. 1945 oder ab 12.11.1933

One source says his profession was "Bauführer" and an other source says that he had an Doctor degree. What is correct.

thank you very much for any informatiom!!!

Greetings

thomas

Altner was an engineer so Bauführer would be correct. He did not gain his Doctorate.

Hi thomas,

According to the book I've he had a career in the Baubranche and he worked as Bauführer im Tiefbau.

Führer der SS-Standarte 26: 22-7-1933 till 20-3-1934.
Mitglied des Reichstages from 12-11-1933.
Führer des SS-Abschnitts XVI: 20-3-1934 till 23-2-1935.
10-1938: Kommissarischer Polizeipräsident Plauen/Vogtland.
07-1937: Polizeipräsident Plauen/Vogtland(I think this last date is a type-error because 1937 comes before 1938 and everything in this book is quit correct regarding years and so. So my guess is that he started out as Kommissarischer Polizeipräsident in October 1938 and that from July 1939 he as a full Polizeipräsident).

Greetings,
Mikedc

I just looked him up via google to a wikipedia page.
His full name was Ernst Georg Van Marchena Altner.
And the shot to the head posted by the late Phil Nix back in 2004, was Altner's suicide.
