Conflicting deaths of Philipp Bouhler
Ok, now I'm very confused about the death of Philipp Bouhler. On AHF, it says he died by cyanide poisoning. And I noted on a thread here that supposedly an American officer shot him. So which was it?
Thanks,
a befuddled Chris

Here are some of the published variations of Bouhler's death:
suicide 10 May 1945 with his wife at Alt Aussee (ABR-SS); at Zell-am-See (SS: Roll of Infamy p. 19); just before arrival of American troops (Who's Who pps. 25-26) or captured by American troops; took poison en route to Dachau internment camp 19 May 1945 (Encyclopedia of the Third Reich pps. 103-4).

HI,
David Irving relates another series of events. Ango took poison soon after falling into US captivity and Helli through herself to her death out of an upper floor window at Fischeral where Ango had been taken into custody. ( Hermann Göring 1989 ).

Re: Conflicting deaths of Philipp Bouhler
But what is very interesting about his death is that there are no US Army files related to it -- I have investigated this for years without success -- not even classified files. No photos of the bodies. No references to any graves. Basically there is no evidence other than published hearsay. Now I am not saying he "survived" but it is very interesting to say the least.

Same situation with Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger and Hans-Adolf Prützmann Mark very sketchy on their eventual fate considering the 3 had high ranks in the system.
