Fritz Christen (1921 - 1995) was awarded the Knight's Cross in 1941 for his bravery when fighting against Russian tanks as a PAK soldier. He was the first enlisted man in the Waffen-SS to be decorated with the Knight's Cross. His last rank was SS-Oberscharführer.

Best wishes
Florian

I will add following:

After the order that Christen recieved the RK
he was flown out of Demjansk pocket on orders
of SS-Ogruf T Eicke, and Christen recieved his RK
from AH personally.

That makes us Flemish and Dutch people connect :D , and it's so a nice way to say farewell to someone!
