Dr Humbert Achamer-Pifrader & Dr Leopold Spann

Post by steve248 » 30 Jan 2005 12:00

On 25 April 1945 there was a huge Allied air-raid on the Linz area, lasting 3 hours.
During the course of this air-raid SS-Oberführer Dr "Piffrader" described as the SSPF OBERDONAU and the Linz Stapoleiter Dr Leopold Spann were killed.

I do not believe Achamer-Pifrader's position is noted in his SS-Officer file.

Anything later that March 1945 does not appear in SS officers files. Do younhave anything re dates for the post of SSPF Oberdonau

No - the announcement of Achamer Pifrader position and death appears in a German Police Decrypt. I have no information on when AP acquired the position as SSPF Oberdonau.

The last official position held by SS-Oberführer und Oberst der Polizei, Regierungs und Kriminaldirektor Dr. Humbert ACHAMER-PIFRADER since 26 II 1944 was Gruppenleiter B und Leiter der Referat B1 [West und Nordgebiete] in Amtsgruppe IV (GESTAPO) der RSHA.
The office was evacuated from Berlin to Austria in IV 1945.

Minotauros is quoting Achamer-P's last known official reported appointment. By April 1945 RSHA IV Referat B1 was redundant. The Allies (from the east and west) were already occupying most of the areas involved in the Referat's work.

I was quoting an official German Police radio message that mentions Achamer-P having a new and previously unknown appointment at the time of his death.
