Hey Harmel,

This is what I've on him. And thanks for the nice photo, can't recall I already had one from him.

Born: 15-8-1904 in München.
Joined the Bavarian Police in 1923.
From 1932 on he worked within the Politische Abteilung.
Became a member of the SS in May 1933.
In 1937 he became a member of the NSDAP.
SS-Sturmbannführer.
First he was Kriminalrat, later on he became a Kriminaldirektor.
In July 1940 he became chief of Referat IV-E(contraspionage)within the Staf from the BdS in the Netherlands.
After WW-II he was aquitted and he became Oberregierungsrat in Bavaria.

Greetings,
Mikedc

Kriminalrat Schreider was indeed one of the key figures in the so-called Englandspiel (March 1942). Here is a photo of him in court with agent-provocateur Anton van der Waals (left). jv

Indeed he was, I've the Dutch translation from the book about this Englandspiel and it's a very
fascinating book indeed. And Van der Waals was one of the most notorious double agents during
WW-2, he played a very nasty part in this Englandspiel.

I also still didn't find the date of death yet from Joseph Schreieder(I found info under this name and also under Joseph Schreider, curious to know how his name was spelled correctly).

Around 1955 he was also working for Radio Free Europe, according to a piece I found in Wikipida.

Greetings,
Mike
