Re: Officer of the 7. SS-Freiw.-Gebirgs-Division "Prinz Eugen"
Hi Albert,
I recently tried to get hold of Koetzold's SSO file (Berlin), but unfortunately to no avail. I am especially interested in the units that he commanded (and from when to when). This should be indicated on the same page as you posted. So would you please be so kind to post that part of the page with the complete "Dienststellung" and "von bis" columns. Your help would be highly appreciated!
Best regards,
Frans

Re: Officer of the 7. SS-Freiw.-Gebirgs-Division "Prinz Eugen"
According to a British Foreign Office file about Austria, about 100 "Prinz Eugen" men were still held at Wolfsberg POW Camp as late as Sept. 1947.
At least I think Sept. 1947 as it is the only document with a date.
Among these were the following officers:
SS-Hstuf. Anton Binder
born 14 Nov. 1896
13 July 1942 joined Div.
SS-Ostuf. Dr. jur. Erich Ernst Hamann
born 12 Nov. 1913, Ljubljana
30 Jan. 1944 joined Div.
SS-Ostuf. Heinrich Pepa
born 8 Dec. 1918
April 1942 joined Div.
SS-Ustuf. Vitalus Sackl
born 9 Aug. 1915
April 1942 joined Div.
May 1943-May 1945 with SS-Div. "Handschar"
SS-Ustuf. Otto Vogenberger
born 9 Dec. 1900
April 1942 joined Div. (Div. Workshops)
SS-Ostuf. Arthur Hasenauer
born 1 July 1946 (sic - 1916?), Osijek
8 July 1943-8 May 1945, with SS Flak Abt. 509
Names are as quoted.

Re: Officer of the 7. SS-Freiw.-Gebirgs-Division "Prinz Eugen"
Dose anyone have any photos or information on Olesch Fredrich - SS-Oberscharführer in the "Prinz Eugen" Division?
Sturmbannführer Heinz Köhler - 7. SS-Freiw.-Gebirgs-Division "Prinz Eugen"
Hello to all of you,
with the link below you can download over 30 pages of Heinz Köhler's SS files.
https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom ... Z_0003.pdf
He was a member of the HJ from February 1932 until March 1933. From May until December 1933 Köhler spend his Arbeitsdienst in Kaiserslautern/ Palatinate.
Heinz Köhler served with Totenkopfverband Elbe in the concentration camp Lichtenburg.
In 1939 he was awarded the Iron Cross Second Class.
On the 6th of July 1942 he was send to the AA of 7. SS-Division Prinz Eugen.
On the 9th of November 1943 Köhler was promoted to SS-Sturmbannführer.
Decades after the war the CIA had requested his SS files from the Berlin Document Center (BDC) because the CIA thought that Heinz Köhler was at that time probably employed by the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) which was named by the CIA internally as CATIDE.
More documents on Heinz Köhler and his interactions with the CIA and possibly the BND you can find here:

Happy New Year to all of you and with best regards

Re: Officers of the 7. SS-Freiw.-Gebirgs-Division "Prinz Eugen"
An interesting little detail about SS-Hstuf. Dr. Anton Wickl is that, after the war, he became part of a famous noble family: in February 1963, his daughter Maria Roswitha married Prince Georg Adam von Altenburg (see the Habsburg family tree), and later gave birth to Prince Georg-Aegidius, Princess Maria Katherine and Prince Stephan Georg.
Cheers,
Ivan
