Hi janusz,

this four pictures must have been taken at the Auschwitz-trail in Crakow in 1947.
Photograph #4 clearly shows Maria Mandel. I`am not quite sure about the others.
You may find those mugshots helpful:

Hi

Does anybody know why Luise Danz was punished by life-imprisonment?

nb 3. certainly it's Luise Danz.
She was convicted of maltreatment of Majdanek and Auschwitz-Birkenau inmates and was sentenced to life during the first Auschwitz Trial in Kraków (1947) by Supreme National Court. Her behaviour in camps was better than Maria Mandel's and Therese Brandl's (who were sentenced to death in the same trial), because she didn't directly participate in the genocide of Jews. But she was found more cruel than Hildegard Laechert and Alice Orlowski, who were sentenced (also in the same trial) to 15 years imprisonment.

Source: T. Cyprian, J. Sawicki "Siedem wyroków Najwyższego Trybunału Narodowego" (it's a book about trials of German war criminals, which were conducted before Polish Supreme National Court).

Case 909 is Ernst August König, born in Silesia, went to Bad Berleburg after war, has been Rottenführer in KZ Auschwitz-Birkenau, 1991 sentenced to a life-term in prison and committed suicide shortly after the trial. Case 909 has been a four-year-lasting trial in Siegen/Germany. I met König several times.
