Hello boys & girls!
I just wanna tell you about my trip to Germany last May:
On the day before I was leaving Germany I went to Rochus` house. I didnt have any booked time or anything so I guess it was a kind of a ballsy thing to do, I didnt know at all how he was going to react.
Imagine, some dude who doesnt speak your language comes from out of nowhere knocking at your door, wanting even an autograph! You could get annoyed for less. I thought at first that I dont go to his house at all but, he was then 89 (just turned 90) so I thought: If I dont go now, it will be too late for later and I will regret it for the rest of my life. Even if he DOES get pissed and tells me to fXXk off!
I took a chance and went to his house.
He wasnt home...
His maid told me he would be home at 1800. Now it was 1200!
I didnt want to loose the chance now that I was so close, so I waited around for 6 hours - still not knowing if he was gonna tell me to fxxk off or not!
When he finally came, I asked in VERY poor german if he could please be so kind to sign my photo?
Sure, he said and signed straight away! Then he started asking how long I was going to in Germany, how I liked it, where I was from etc. Then he said: If youve come that long way to see me, wait a moment! He went back into his house, was gone for a moment or so, came out with three other photos of him from the Reich period, signed them all and handed them over to me!!!!!
We talked for a while before we parted and all I can say about herr Misch is that he is the sweetest, nicest old man youll ever meet! EVER!
Im very thankful to him and my meeting with him is something I will never forget! Im sure those of you out there who have also met him feels the same!

@ von Putzbrunn
Please, I would like to see your autographed photographs. The best way would be to scan them to your computer as JPEG images then upload them using the "ADD AN ATTACHMENT" feature, which is in the bottom left hand corner when you are posting a message.
@ History Teacher
Please, Mr Misch does not want to be bothered by autograph hunters. If his address was posted here on the forum then he would be receiving many dozens of requests which is not acceptable. Remember, he is 90 years old and no doubt wants to lead a quiet life without unwanted attention from us.
I believe this is also official forum policy and rightly so!!!
Best regards.
