the action of SIPO SD commandos in the area of Viombois (Vosges) on september 1944 is widely covered by the book of Jean-Michel Adenot VIOMBOIS 4 septembre 1944 Ecritures, mythes et Histoire (Writings, Myths and History). A masterwork well documented on the subject the action of the remnants of SIPO SD in France involved in the protection of the retreat of german army from South East and the reinforcement of the defense in Vosges mountains. this 432 pages book of course cover also german units involved in this action.

Werner Goy came in France with the Sonderkommando Knochen on 1940.

6/7/1913 at Görlitz

He was the 1st Leiter ADst. SIPO SD La Rochelle. A source (Ahrich Meyer) state he moved to ADst. SIPO SD Reims (no date).

Miikedc mention " Befehlsblatt des Chefs der Sipo und des SD Nr. 3/45. Kommandiert 1-45: SS-Ustuf Werner Goy zum SS-RSHA. "

sentenced 10 years hard-labour (in absentia) by TPF Bordeaux.

SS-Untersturmführer Walter Menzel
born.22.1.1900.warndorff
served with ADst Besançon (Doubs).
He headed an new outpost created at Héricourt (Haute Saône) on 1944
Trial with Hulf Dijon, Meissner Besançon at Lyon. sentenced to death and executed at Marseille on feb 1951.
