He was Referent with SD-LA Berlin when commissioned SS-Ustuf., 20 April 1940, is the earliest job I know of (at 29 years of age).
CROWCASS List No. 16, Dec. 1945, has him listed as wanted by France and notes he had a "false left eye". This probably precluded him from serving in the military unless he acquired it in an accident during training before 1940. If Albert S has his SSO maybe he can show his earlier career.
