Who exactly was this Alfred WENZEL? A SD officer or a SIPO official (Kriminalkommissar?)?
Was he head of Referat IV N of KdS Paris (less probable) or BdS Frankreich?
A bit of his short biography would be welcome!

Alfred Wenzel was sentenced to 5 years in the trial of Rue de la Pompe (Gestapo) at Paris
he was first Chef referat VI N5 (Freimaurer) then Referat VI N4 (Nachrichten) in Abt VI SD
this referat moved from Abteilung VI (SD) Abteilung IV (Gestapo) of BdS as Leiter Referat IV N

a french written source state SD member since 1937.
Best regards

Too many Wenzels in Paris.

Alfred Wenzel (born 12 May 1908) I have seen described as a SS-Hstuf KR and have a note he had detached service with RSHA VI following the withdrawal from France. He is connected to Leitstelle Walter at the end of 1944 and in command of Nachrichtenkopf "Elch" in the Black Forest area.
The KGB mole Hans Sommer claims this Alfred Wenzel was postwar connected to the BfV and BND despite holding down a job at the Government statistical office in Wiesbaden. He was active in German Sudetenlander groups in West Germany so maybe that was the attraction.
Apparently this Alfred Wenzel was known as "Fred".

The "other" Alfred Wenzel (born 4 Aug 1910, Salza) was described in the lengthy interrogation report of former RSHA VII Amtschef Paul Dittel:
SS-Ostuf Alfred Wenzel, formerly a commercial clerk, joined SD-HA about mid-1935. Employed in the Witchcraft sub-dept long before it became RSHA VII C3, but subsequently worked in several other depts, also in the Admin Office on pay matters. Detached to BdS Paris in spring 1944 to assist SS-Ostuf Stüber in the latter’s investigations on French Masonry, but was, upon the Allied Invasion, detailed for general SD duties. After Stüber’s death he was ordered to take charge of Coston. It was his special task to supervise Coston and his entourage and to prevent any unwanted literary activity on their part.
Old Party member, talkative and boastful, very forgetful owing to a head injury received in political brawling before 1933.

I for one, would like to know about his education, what universities he studied at and what subjects (is his doctorate in Jura?) and what his career path looked like.
Basically Dr Keil just "appeared" as stellv. KdS Rouen in August 1943 as a Uniformtraeger SS-Hauptsturmführer (Captain).
What he did he do before this?

Forgot that Georges Jerome posted some of the information I asked for in another post.

I am still interested in what universities he studied at, and where he did his Referendarzeit.

Erich Ackermann, SS No. 415843, commissioned SS-Ustuf 9 Nov 1944, is not the same Erich Ackermann whose details Puck posts above.

This second Erich Ackermann was born 21 Dec 1892, Göppersdorf; when commissioned he was KS with Stapostelle Chemnitz; he was never in France.
