Georges: Interesting to read that Maack was only "mdFb" of SS-Geb. Jg. Rgt. 6 from 10.03.1943 until 23.10.1943, when he finally became full commander of the regiment. That answers my question. What is your source? His SSO?
One small thing: There was no IV./SS-Geb. Jg. Rgt. 6: On 03.03.1942 a SS-Geb. Jg. Btl. IV was raised in Wildflecken. It arrived at the front in Finland on 21.09.1942 where it was incorporated in SS-Geb. Jg. Rgt. 6 as its II. Bataillon (Bundesarchiv - Militärarchiv Freiburg. "Vopersal" file N756/147c).
Charly: From your posts it is clear that Maack was the actual CO (Kdr.) of SS-Geb. Jg. Rgt. 6 on 30.03.1943 and on 01.10.1943. Thanks for that info!
Do you know who replaced Herms in mid July and early August 1943 as CO of II./SS-Geb. Jg. Rgt. 7, when Herms had to replace Maack. Do you know how long this period of replacement lasted and what was the reason? Was Maack on leave or on a course, was he ill?
Interesting thing on the document with the picture of Heydrich is that he signs on "30.III.1943" with "SS-Staf." As far as I know, he wasn't promoted until 21.04.1943....
What are your sources for posts 11, 14 and 15?
