After he studied law and got his degree he worked as a civil servant.
In 1930 he became a member of the NSDAP(nr. ???).
In 1933 he became a member of the SS(nr. 139.336).

Hello Georges and HM,

Do you think it's still available??? And do you have the autors name or is that NKCA Int'veld???

I'll look for it on Google already, maybe they've a reference to this book overthere.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello JG,

Thank you very much, I think I did found this book.
Amd the man's correct name was NKCA in 't Veld, if I'm correct he wrote this book together
with Sytze van der Zee.

Greetings,
Mike

This is an old post but I'll go ahead a mad comment anyways.
I just found Edinger Ancker's numbered SS dagger that he personally tried to make a chained. It's in rough shape but still an outstanding piece

Hello Mike

What is the source about above mentioned statement? I have his whole SS-File but I know that info about SD is pretty rare in the SSO´s

Is there anyone who knows when he died and where?

The file is from my SS / Waffen-SS Offizieren Vol.1

Best regards
Georg

Georg

Mikedc (has something untoward happened to him?) did not get round to answering your question about Edinger's post in Holland, which I have as June 1940-Dec 1941, "Personal Referent beim Reichskommissar für den besetzten Niederlandischer Gebiete, Den Haag"; followed by Jan 1942-May 1944 with the NS Parteikanzlei. Interestingly in this last post he was being paid by RSHA III (SD); the SD being paid out of Party funds.

You can download from Bundesarchiv Berlin (invenio) R58/11981, Sachakte; and from IfZ Munich website, Edinger's US interrogations in Nürnberg on 28 and 31 March and 3 April 1947 (file ZS-812-1)

Is there any specific reason, why this officer - who had a "comfortable" Obersturmbannführer position far away from the front - joined the waffen-ss? It seems that quiete a few SD or allgemeine SS officers (often law school graduates) with high positions in the Administration joined the Waffen-SS in the late war. was this sort of a "penalty" or a private choise?

In Oct. 1964 Ancker was questioned by the Amtsgericht Düsseldorf. In the written version Ancker states "In autumn 1943 at my request, my UK-Stellung was cancelled... and the following spring [1944] I was again a soldier".
He does not explain his decision and he does not explain when he had previously been a soldier
