I'm looking for more info on him, like DoB/birthplace, awards and other info.

Hello HM,

Jee, I just noticed it. You gave me info on a total different Stein.
But them you're talking about is not in my files yet so of course that info is very welcome.

So that means I'm still looking for info on Hans von Stein.

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry, forgive me. It's the alcohol that I have drunk that's rising to my head.
I'm normally not drinking any alcohol(not anylonger at least)so it rises pretty quick to my head when I drink some.

But hey, it's Chrismas and therefor a sort of special occasion.
Hans von Stein is correct, so it's not another person, it's the same one.

Thanks for the info,
Oeps, what a stupid mistake.
Mike

Hello Phil,

Yes, I did see it.
Thank you very much, not at least I know what it meant. It was a very strange abbriviation but it's cleared up now.

Mike

Hello Phil,

It could be that indeed. Never heard about a Hauptwirtschaftslager but as the abbrevation is H. W. it makes sence.

By the way, I do have some questions about some names on the SS-Personalveränderungssblatt you've posted here.
Of course I didn't checked all the names on it yet but just the first few. Some of them are in my files, others not.
So I would like to find out some more about the following men(forgive me if I've written down their name incorrectly):

Ernst Eberhardt: SS-143.494 1. SS-Division. Can't find anything more.

Gustav Freimuth: SS-393.322 12.SS-Division. Can't find anything more.

Anton Gallster: Born on 23-5-1905. 21. Waffen-Division. Can't find anything more.

Karl Gillner: SS-421.660(V). Kommandostab RF SS. Can't find anything more.

Dr. Heinz Gudacker. SS-347.200 17. SS-Division. I only could find that he was born in 1911 and that he was SS-Stubaf.

Otto Hauprich: SS-278.983. SS-Tr.Üb.Plz. 'Böhmen'. I did find an Otto Hauprich who followed Lehrgang 1937-38 at the
SS-Junkerschule Bad Tölz but he had SS-nr. 210.558

Willy Hempel: SS-207.519 13. Waffen-Division. Can't find anything more.

Thanks for any given information about these men. I'm already happy with their ranks and DoB/birthplace.

Greetings,
Mike

I'd say "H.W." means Heimwehr (local defence). The following source speaks of the "Heimwehr" as an organization similar to the "Volkssturm": http://www.demokratiezentrum.org/download/petrasct.pdf.
