Two wild guesses about the SMT Btn you mentioned.

Could it just be that it is variant on SchutzMannschafT more commonly known as Schuma Btn's or how about the Home Guard units SelbschutzMannschafT

Thank's!

Selbschutzmannschaft is pretty normal, but i'm not sure that T means last sign from the word. Is possible that T means some transport or something like that? At this time i knoe little bit more and can say that the address of this unit was: Kuressaare, S.M.T bataillon, 8th company, 4th squad.
i guess that in Kuressaare was not any Schuma unit.

Sorry, I have no specific date at which a Schuma Btn could have been at Kuressaare , but that's not to say that there wasn't at some stage.

I do have a listing a Schuma Btns and there locations at home which I'll try and dig out.
