Re: Slovak uniform
Thanks for posting the photos! Would it be possible to get an unobstructed scan of the information paper that goes inside the tag? I recently found an empty tag, and would like to reproduce the inner paper.

It's not quite complete, but it's getting there

Re: Slovak uniform
I believe the Slovaks also used the Finnish Suomi submachine gun.1900 wrote:Hello Helen,

Re: Slovak uniform
As for Beretta MAB model 1938 - it was never used by regular (Czecho-)Slovakian army ... yes, more than one hundred pieces was bought from Italy in early summer 1944, also accepted, but these were never used, becouse at the end od summer 1944 Slovak national uprising broke up and Berettas were given quickly to partisans (reason: Slovak army had no logistic support for these machineguns - no spare parts, no educated and experienced armourers with this firearm). Slovaks preferred MP40 - submachinegun with its own history in Slovak army since 1941. Not to forget - Berettas were bought by Slovaks, becouse Germans didn´t send more of promised MP40 and the production of prewar Czechoslovak submachinguns stopped already in 1942 (I am not sure if exactly it was 1942).1900 wrote:Hello Helen,

I believe the Slovaks also used the Finnish Suomi submachine gun.
You have misidentified captured Soviet SMG PPD-40 (which is similar to SMG Suomi 31), which was captured in numbers by Slovakians on the Eastern frond (already in 1941).

Don´t consider those uniforms right for reenacting of Slovakian soldier 1939-44 ... they are wearing early postwar uniforms, which are already obsolete nowadays...2 years ago, in time of need, these were used (although, some
backwards still use this stuff )...right colour and shape is presented by 1900 (last photo) and Matt Brown...
The machinegun is : light machinegun ZB-26 (ZB for Zbrojovka Brno = Small arms factory Brno), which was accepted into prewar Czechoslovak army as "lehký kulomet vz. 26"= light machinegun (LK) mark 1926 ... Bren machinegun was one of its clones...
Re: Slovak uniform
Does anyone know where I can find uniforms and stuff to do this impression?
