Re: Hungarian Invasion of USSR 1941
OK, here goes.
The following photos are all from Russia in 1941, and are vehicles used by the bridgebuilding unit.
The first 2 photos might possibly be vehicles of an allied army, as there are soldiers shown in the photos who are not in Hungarian uniform. All other photos are of Hungarian vehicles.
Cheers
George

Further photos. Note the Anchor unit marking on the windscreens in these 3 photos. I believe it was the marking of this bridgebuilding unit, which specialized in floating bridges.
Photo 161 also shows a gas mask fitted over the headlight. It is thought that they were an improvisation, used as headlight dimmers.

Re: Hungarian Invasion of USSR 1941
Hi George: thank you for your images.
As for your first three photos of your last series:
Army pictures 018.jpg: Ford V8-51 truck
Army pictures 199.jpg: I think FIAT 626 or 666 trucks. I believe that the Hungarian army did not use these types of trucks.
Army pictures 030.jpg: SdKfz 8 12ton halftrack. I believe that the Hungarian army did not use this type of halftrack

Hi Sturm78
Thank you for your help in this. You have confirmed my suspicion that the photos with non-Hungarian soldiers (photos 199 and 030) show vehicles not used by the Hungarian army.
Regards
George

Re: Hungarian Invasion of USSR 1941
Hi all,
I found this image on AXH Forum, trailers section.
I think this image was taken in the same site of image posted by George in this thread on 21 Jan 2010 entitled "Several soldiers not in Hungarian uniform". See the big church in the background.
So I suspect that the trailers could be Hungarian.
Can anyone identify the church?
Regards Sturm78

Re: Hungarian Invasion of USSR 1941
Thanks for this photo. The trailers could well have been the vehicles in my father's unit. Amongst his photos are the ones attached, showing the same building. As far as I know the bridgebuilding unit went to Zaporoshje, Dnjepropetrovsk and possibly as far as Kiev, so the church could be from one of those places.

To Sturm78
Could you please direct me to the exact section where you found the photo you posted with the trailers and boats with the church in the background. I would like to see who posted it originally and if I can contact them. Thank you and regards.

Hallo, the photos taken near the church of Novomoskovsk, Ukraina, are very interesting for me, as there are some Italian soldiers with FIAT 626 trucks. To whom these photos belong, may be you know?

Hi Xifonio. Three of the four photos are from my father's collection. Thank you for identifying where the church is located,
George
