Re: Hungarian Armor in WW2
I have a question regarding those Hungarian vehicles. What is the numbering system? is it a 2 or 3 digit number? I have been compyling the photos of vehicles studied by Soviet evaluation team and sometimes is not clear if the number was added or it was alredy there (i.e. 56).

If you see big white two- or three-digit numbers on nearly all photos: they are usually a Soviet numbering system for foreign equipment.Alejandro_ wrote:I have a question regarding those Hungarian vehicles. In my posted pics I'm also not sure if the big numbers were added...

Re: Hungarian Armor in WW2
Simon, The turret numbers in "your" pics are the Hungarian numbers, they used both three and four figures on their tanks. If you look closely at the rear view of 56's turret you'll see two smaller 3's in front of the large 56. Also in the rear view of the Turan with 32 you can see where the larger third and fourth numbers have been painted out.
