Early post WW1 organizations:

Early actual (1920s) - Platoon has 4 squads by 19 men each (Rifles only)

Planned (early 1930s):
Platoon has 2 LMG squads (9 men, 1 LMG - 1 squad leader, 4 men LMG team (1 LMG, 3 carbines), 4-5 men rifle team) and 3 assault squads (1 squad leader, 7-8 men) - total 1 platoon officer, 1 platoon NCO, 1 assistant platoon NCO, 5 squad leaders, 46 privates

Actual (early 1930s):
Platoon has 2 demi-platoons by 3 squads each (9 men - Rifles only)
No LMGs, HMGs - available at battalion level - per battalion - one company of 3 platoons with 2 HMGs each (so the HMG platoon has 1 platoon officer, 1 platoon NCO, 1 assistant platoon NCO, 2 HMG NCOs, 4 squad leaders, 40 privates)

1939 Infantry Platoon:
Platoon command (3-5 men), 3 squads (1 squad leader, 8 men assault team - rifles, 5 men LMG team - 1 LMG - so 14 men, 1 LMG per squad)

Thanks Dibo, I have nearly got all the TO&Es for the various Infantry Companies from around this period, the only country that has eluded me is Yugoslavia, there is no proper detailed breakdown of a Yugoslav Infantry Company from 1941 to be found anywhere, it’s the same with the Baltic nations, I have little on the Estonian and Latvian Infantry Companies, but I have some good info on Lithuanian Infantry Company.

Infantry squad (theoretical):
Men - Squad Leader, Rifle Team (Team Leader, 7 Rifleman), LMG Team (Team Leader, Machine Gunner, Assistant MG, Ammo Carrier, Handler) - total of 14 men.
Ranks - Squad Leader is a Kandidat Podofitzer (Кандидат-подофицер) or Podofitzer (Подофицер), Team Leaders of Rifle Team and LMG Team are Kandidat Podofitzer (Кандидат-подофицер) or Efreytor (Ефрейтор). The Machine Gunner is usually an Efreytor (Ефрейтор). The rest are Rednik (Редник). N.B. - Rednik = Private, Efreytor = Corporal, Kandidat Podofitzer = Junior Sergeant, Podofitzer = Sergeant.
Equipment - 14 Backpacks, 14 Gas Masks, 14 Helmets, 1 binoculars and 1 Signal Flare (Squad Leader), 26 cartridge pouches (each 2 except Machin Gunner), 1 ammo bag (Machine Gunner), 1 set of MG parts (Assistant MG), 9 spades, 3 pickaxes (2 rifleman, Assistant MG), 2 hatchets (Squad Leader, LMG Team Leader).
Armament - 1 LMG, 1 pistol, 1 knife (all with Machine Gunner), 9 rifles (Squad Leader, all the Rifle Team), 4 carbines (the LMG team minus the Machine Gunner). In 1944-1945 the Squad leader could be armed with a SMG instead.

HMG Squad (theoretical):
Men - Squad Leader, Machine Gunner, Assistant MG, 3 Ammo Carrier, Water Carrier, 3 Handlers - total of 10 men.
Ranks - Squad Leader is a Kandidat Podofitzer (Кандидат-подофицер) or Podofitzer (Подофицер), Machine Gunner is a Kandidat Podofitzer (Кандидат-подофицер). The rest are Rednik (except the Assistant MG, who could be an Efreytor).
Equipment - 10 Backpacks, 10 Gas Masks, 10 Helmets, 1 binoculars (Squad Leader), 20 cartridge pouches (each 2), 1 ammo bag (Machine Gunner), 1 set of MG parts (Assistant MG), 6 spades, 1 pickaxe (Assistant MG), 1 hatchet (Squad Leader).
