Help identify a Czech mauser rifle
Help identify a Czech mauser rifle
I came across a typical mauser rifle. It has "AKCIOVA/BRNO" on the top of the receiver and number 34442 on the right side of the receiver. Otherwise I cannot make out any other marks on it. It does not fit with description of Vz 24. Would be glad to know more and instruction on where to look for more proof marks. Thanks. Haibin
Re: Help identify a Czech mauser rifle
Hello,
I'm not an expert on small-arms, but if this rifle is found in China, perhaps you should consider the possibility that this particular rifle was a work by a local gunsmith who was trying to imitate the markings of foreign arsenals. The letters do give me an impression that the rifle was hand-made.

The Chinese made copies of the VZ24. This what you have.
