Unfortunately the Romanian Army was poor and that the fault of Germany which has not complied with commitments and has supplied equipment in exchange for oil and imported grain.
Make comparison between Skoda R 2 or TACAM R2 and any russian tank, it is clear inferiority and lack any chances.

What was the task of 1st and 2nd Romanian Armies in 1941-1943, while 3rd and 4th Armies were fighting in Russia?

Antonescu asked over and over again german equipment for the Romanian army. However too little was sent.Acording to him the poor performance at Odessa and Stalingrad was due to the antique weapons we had.
And as I understand it, also a) not enough with anti-tank weapons and artillery b) too little ammunition for the artillery they did had does Beevor* writes.
The romaninan weapons werent THAT bad as they were from beginning, as romanians usually did upgraded them themselves.

I think Beevor * writes something like that in his book Stalingrad.

*what is his name? Beevor? he wrote several thick books about different fronts... Stalingrad, March to Berlin, The Normandie-invasion, The war in Spain - prob some more tooo.
