According to Axworthy, 1 st Army spent that entire time guarding the Hungarian border and 2 nd Army was disbanded on 1st November 1940.

Antonescu asked over and over again german equipment for the Romanian army.However too little was sent.Acording to him the poor performance at Odessa and Stalingrad was due to the antique weapons we had.

And as I understand it, also a) not enough with anti-tank weapons and artillery b) too little ammunition for the artillery they did had does Beevor* writes.
The romaninan weapons werent THAT bad as they were from beginning, as romanians usually did upgraded them themselves.


I think Beevor * writes something like that in his book Stalingrad.
