Hi,

I believe that this is General Richard Rapaich:

Lovassági tábornok/Vezérezredes vitéz Richárd ruhmwerthi Rapaich (19 Jun 1882 - 9 Jun 1973)
(1 May 1926: Promoted to Tábornok)
10 Jun 1927 - 1 Jul 1928: Infantry Commander, 7. Mixed Brigade
1 Jul 1928 - 1930: Vice-Chairman, National Sports Council
(1930: Promoted to Altábornagy)
1930 - 1935: Inspector of Cavalry
1935 - 15 Sep 1936: Inspector of Levente Youth Organization,
Chairman, National Sports Council
15 Sep 1936 - 1 May 1938: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army
(1 Oct 1936: Promoted to Lovassági tábornok)
1 Aug 1938: Retired

Following are a couple of photos for comparison purposes.

Regards,

AJK

Here is an unknown Hungarian Vezérőrnagy in a light-green zsávoly summer field uniform with nice combat-tabs.

It is very unusual to see Hungarian officers wearing black babmérő-style kepis with zsávoly uniforms. They were typically worn with walking-out tunics or gala uniforms.

Does anybody recognize this general?

It looks to me that this is Altábornagy László Kassay-Farkas:

Altábornagy vitéz László nemes székelyudvarhelyi Kassay-Farkas (22 Nov 1889 - 20 Aug 1950)
1936 - 15 Mar 1938: Chief of Section 7/m., Ministry of Defense
15 Mar 1938 - Oct 1938: Commander of Artillery, 2. Mixed Brigade
Oct 1938 - ?: Commander of Artillery, II. Army Corps
? - 1 Jan 1941: Commander of Artillery, I. Army Corps
1 Jan 1941 - 1 Oct 1942: Chief of Pioneer Training Courses
(1 May 1941: Promoted to Tábornok)
1 Oct 1942 - 1 Feb 1943: Inspector of Engineers
1 May 1943: Retired
(27 Sep 1943: Promoted to Altábornagy)

Here is a photo for comparison purposes:

Here is an unknown Hungarian Vezérőrnagy with two very important military decorations... the Leopold Order Knight's Cross and the Bavarian Military Merit Order Officer's Cross.

Does anybody recognize him?

Here is an oil painting of another unidentified Hungarian Vezérőrnagy.

He bears a slight resemblance to Dezső László, but General László did not have an Austrian Order of the Iron Crown.

Here is an unidentified Hungarian Vezérőrnagy in an M26 standing-collar khaki tunic with nice examples of early gereral's collar tabs. He is wearing the Ehrenritter Cross of the Prussian Johanniterorden, the Professkreuz of the Ritterorden St. Johannis vom Spital zu Jerusalem, as well as the Knight's Cross of the Austrian Leopold Order with War Decoration.

I googled his name and you are correct. His final military rank was Altábornagy but then he eventually became the Hungarian Deputy Minister of Defense.

Thank you very much for the ID!!
