Hi, everyone, I see website list weapon list of Romanian 1st Armoured division in 1942, they had 126 Czech 35t R-2 tanks, 10 x Pz III R-3, 10 x Pz IV R-4, 28 x sdkfz.222 , 14 x 251 APC, 24 x 60mm and 12 x 120mm mortar, 12 x 75mm field guns, 12 x 10 cm cannon and 12 x 10cm howitzers, 9 x German Pak 40 75mm and 9 x Pak 38 50mm Pak, 72 x Czech 47mm AT guns and 30 x 2cm AA guns,749 x MG, 135 x cars and 1156 x trucks.

I would like to ask if in Nov 1942 when Operation Uranus started, Romanian armoured force still had that number of AFV or guns in this period ? Thank

Kelvin, i wouldn't place too much faith in a website which tells you that the Romanians called the panzer III an R3 and the Panzer IV the R4. They in fact called them T3 and T4. I have checked Axworthy and he gives the following figures for 1 Armoured Division.

29th August when they entered the campaign, 102 x R2 with 11 T3(Pz IIIN) and T4(Pz IVG) issued on 17th October. 9 x Pak38 with SdKfz 10 and 9 x Pak40 with SdKfz 11 were taken on strength " during the campaign" but he gives no dates.

Figures for 19th November are , 84 x R2 and 19 x T3/4.
