Romanian fighter groups, 1940

Post by CNE503 » 12 Jan 2019 15:49

Hello,

Could someone please tell me when the romanian Fighter Groups 3 and 4 (Grupuri 3 and 4 Vanatoare) were established, where they were deployed (airbases) and what kind of aircraft equipped them in 1940?

Thank you for any help provided.
Regards,

Hello to all :D; no really............just this in 1941.............

Aeronautica Regala Română (ARR) in WWII.

Behind the front line, the Romanian territory was divided between the 2nd Air Region (Regiunea II-a Aerianã) with:

3rd Fighter Group: 43rd, 44th and 45th Fighter Squadrons (P.11f)
4th Fighter Group: 46th, 49th and 50th Fighter Squadrons (P.11f)
112th Liaison Squadron (Fleet-10G)

and the 3rd Air Region (Regiunea III-a Aerianã), which was covered by the 2nd Fighter Flotilla with:

6th Fighter Group: 61st and 62nd Fighter Squadrons (P.24E)
113th Liaison Squadron (Fleet-10G)

In Dobrogea the

101st Seaplane Squadron (Cant Z.501)
102nd Seaplane Squadron (S.62B and S.55A)
16th Reconnaissance Squadron (IAR-39)
53rd Fighter Squadron (Hurricane Mk. I)

Its mission was to defend the oil facilities of the Prahova Valley, the capital, the port of Constanta, the railway bridge over the Danube in Cernavoda and other strategic places, against Soviet airstrikes that occurred almost daily, particularly from the Sea Black.
