Romanian Army...
Were the Romanians equipped with Russian weapons after they changed sides in 1944?
The Romanian Army started using Soviet equipment since 1941 (mostly unofficially).
In 1942, the Mosin Nagant with a PE scope was issued as the standard sniper rifle, and the PPSh 41 was very common among squad leaders.
The DP LMG was given to cavalry units and the main AT gun of the cavalry was the 45mm M35. Captured Soviet artillery pieces were also put to good use (like the 120 mm mortar which was also copied by Romanian industry).
After august 1944, the Soviets gave nothing. Instead they confiscated a lot of equipment, especially of Soviet origin and had most of the Romanian war industry work for them. True "allies"!

I was aware that the Russians treated the Romanians like total sh*t, but I didn't know if maybe they still sold or helped equip them...I guess not!
On a different note, I never really knew how effective the Romanians were against the Germans. I went to a couple of sites about the 44-45 campaigns. Pretty impressive, even more so now that I know they had no Russian equipment.
