Info Search for Romanian Arty Soldier at Sevastopol

Post by Spindler81 » 29 Mar 2020 05:52

I recently acquired a named Romanian army dog tag recovered from the Sevastopol area. It is marked Sergeant Mihai Luta, Romanian 4th Artillery Regiment, enlistment date of 1932, number 763. Any information regarding the soldier or unit would be appreciated. Thanks!

4th Artillery Regiment was part of 7th Infantry Division but as far as I know, this division didn't fought in Sevastopol area

I understand that the 7th ID/4th Art. Reg were not part of the Romanian force that originally helped take Sevastopol in 1942. But did the 7th ID/4th Art. Reg. evacuate through the Crimea via Sevastopol in April-May 1944?

Here is the war record of 7th Infantry:

It is possible that the respective soldier was transferred to a different unit but didn't received an ID in time.
