Hi,
I am looking for Information about a romanian Admiral, who was CO of the romanian "Danube Division" (Danube Flotillia) in July 1941
I THINK it might be Admiral Alexandru Gheorghiu but I am not shure and it is hard to find anything about it in german/english -.-
If anybody knows anything about the Commanding Officer of the romanian Danube Flotillia at the time of Barbarossa, I would be very thankful - all kind of information (any maybe a picture ?) would be great,
thanks and regards,
Alexander

Hi Melax,
You probably need Volume 1 of Marina Romana in al II-lea Razboi Mondial (1939-1945) by Nicolae Koslinski and Raimond Stanescu.
Cheers,
Sid.

ahhh.. so he is indeed the one I am looking for
that's great news, also the informations are great, thanks VJK
hmm.. about the missing photo you are correct, I would think someone as "important" as a Chief of Naval General Staff would be pictured somewhere... hmm..
but at least his identity is proven, that helps a lot, maybe a picture will be find someday...
thanks again,
regards.
