Why weren't Hungarians expelled from neighboring countries after World War II like Germans were? Was it because Hungary is too much of a military pipsqueak in comparison to Germany? Or was there some other reason for this--and, if so, what exactly?

Even after the end of the Cold War, you can still see sizable Hungarian minorities in Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, and Serbia--mostly near the Hungarian border, but also in Szekely Land in Romania's case:

German minorities on this map are, of course, almost nonexistent outside of South Tyrol.
