Romanian Artillery Regiment 55 - looking for infos and Officers

Post by Melax » 02 Jan 2021 18:17

Hi,

maybe someone of you might help me - I am looking for informations about the romanian artillery regiment 55 in the 1941/42 time and it's 2 officers:

commanding officer: colonel Manassian (or maybe Manarsian?)

and Locotenent colonel Balasz (?) former k.u.k. officer

(the names are from a handwritten german text, so no idea if I have spelled them correctly or the author spelled them correct either -.-)

the AR 55 should have been at Braila in August 1941 - so i asume it was part of a reserve division, frontier division or security division.

would be great if someone could add some information about colonel Manassian and locotenent colonel Balasz - data, names, pictures.. all would be great..

thanks a lot and have a healty new year
Alexander

Leo Nierhorster has in his webpage the 55th Artillery Regiment as Part of the 32. Reserve Division (together with the 56.Art.Reg.) in June 1941

http://www.niehorster.org/031_rumania/4 ... nf_41.html

the 55th AR should be stationed in/near Braila.

I have an other source that the 56.Art.reg. was in August 1942 part of the "rum. 2.Sicherungs-Division". (so maybe the 55th went to the 1.Sicheurngs-Division???)

Does anybody know more about the 55th Artillery regiment? His Commanding Officers and/or the later use in the war?

every help much needed :)

thanks and regards,
Alexander
