I had relatives who have served with the Honvéd but I know nothing about their years in service. Would it be possible to find out more if I gave you their names ? :?

You can contact me at: [email protected]

Thanks in advance ! :)

Did they live in Northern Transsylvania?

Which year were they drafted? In 1942?

Yes, both were from Sălaj. And I believe they were both drafted before the war in the East started.

Are you sure? Just in early 1942 were drafted Rumanian soldiers in significant numbers, if I know correctly (and sent to the front).

Hi

I don't for sure, but one of them was already somewhere around Kiev in 1942, and the other one hinted to the Don river, but I'm not 100% sure. :? Mr. Laszlo Nemedi (from feldgrau) suggested me to contact the Central Archives of Hungary and I will do so as soon as I gather all necessary information.

Near the Don were Rumanians in significant number. BTW you can't find any in central archives. The personal meterials are in a different archive, in Fekete Sas street, in Budapest. Not too easy to researh there (need some authorizes).
