A question to keep the quiz going:
It could be said that there were three very important dates in the history of the Slovak Republic around the time of early WW II. Can you name the dates and what occurred on those dates?

Hello Rob, maybe you should specify more closely which dates do you mean. First month? First six months? ;)

1st september 1939-Slovak infantry took the former Slovak villages of Javorina
8th september 1939-Slovak motorized unit crossed the polish border
16th september 1939-Slovak 2nd division clearing the line Liszna- Jablonki - Baligrod - Sanok - Krosno - Dukla

Indeed those dates doesn't look very important....

Hi,

Your right I should have made it a bit clearer; apologies. The dates and events I was referring to are of national importance - declarations, treaties pacts  that sort of thing.

regards to all Robb

14th March 1939 - Declaration of independence
23th March 1939 - border war with Hungary (first independent action of newly created Slovak Army and probably only one action without cooperation with Germany)
23t March 1939 - Germans signed German-Slovak treaty
1st September 1939 - Slovak joined Germans in their attacks against Poland

Hi KACKO,

Over to you now, Your 1st & 3 rd answers were two of the ones I was looking for along with President Josif Tiso signing the Tripartite Pact on 24/11/40. But as you have proven there were a couple of other very important dates.

regards Robb

let's go with Slovak army to Russia.
November 21st 1942 Germans lend to Slovak Fast Division fighting in that time on Caucasus 5 tracked vehicle. These vehicles were tracked and not of German origin.
What type and origin these vehicles were?

No Skoda.
This tracked vehicles were from country occupied in 1940, so not from former Czechoslovakia or Protektorat.
Vehicles served in army of origin and in German Army as a carrier, on the pictures is often with tracked trailer.
For same purpose was used by Slovaks on Caucasus in fall 1942. Delivering supplies to front lines.
