How to age a repro Heer cap
I have a repro WWII Heer visor cap. The sweatband is brand new looking. How can I artificially “age” the sweatband to make it look worn?

Take it and use a bench buffing wheel on the interior firdst, them put sopme dirt grime from the carport floor where the enginje oil ha smixed in with the earth -dust, etc rub some into leather band all around, be careful t NOT get any of this mixture on cap itself, weuipe off residue then trturn to buffing wheel, Then tak ecap and soak out in sun in a epson salt water tub bath for some period of time, rem ove once in awhile to air sun dry, then repat process for th summer. Leave the chin strap on as you want to givew the appearance of fading not being undernesath trough en up the visir, step on it kick it asround outside let a dog play with it, etc.Remembewr to also dirty up under the leather headband that folds underneath itselfd also, take a steam iron and just iron out parts of it sprap a fine mist of clorox with a small spray bottle to fade the outsid eof cap, wear ot everyday out in sun wipe your hea dand sweat with it all the time mowing, digging ditches, you gotta put 5 yrard of weartime use into a summer fakery

leave all insignia on cap let them ge tall nasty and gunked upand buf them out along leading adges to give appearance of being touched over a period of years that for the actual visor bill as wewll, where some one would everyda many times will place his thub and fingers on a leading eds\ge of the visor bill to do that hand smooth it with grime to wear out the area or us eothe rmethends
