Urgent help for waffen ss infantry uniforms

Hello, I had some questions about uniforms for museum quality presentation and reenactment that I needed help with. I am very OCD and want my uniforms to be perfect, despite knowing Germans ignored uniform regulations quite often haha lol.

1) for an ss M40 feldgrau uniform set, which types of headgear were seen during the Second World War overall?
Aside the visor cap, would this overseas cap be common for soldiers in France or Russian? Attached below is the overseas cap I’m referring to.

2) expanding on the first question; would an enlisted ss M40 uniform ever have been seen with ss m43 field caps? I am having trouble finding the m43 field cap style in any other production year model. Is this because it was only invented In mid 43? Would such a cap ONLY be worn with m43 tunics or would soldiers wearing m40 tunics also be seen in this during the Second World War ? I’m asking if the newer ss m43 caps, could be/ were worn by enlisted men in older style ss m40 tunics.

3) i am choosing to go with enlisted ss m40 uniforms as opposed to ss m43 uniforms because it’s my understanding that jackboots were worn on the field during the early war primarily. So if I wanted to have the cool jackboot look, it would make sense to pair those boots with enlisted man SS m40 uniforms right?! Or were Jack boots worn with ss m43 late uniforms as well? I’m asking SPECIFICALLY about SS enlisted men (and not NCOs or officers ).

4) I’m having trouble finding an image to describe this; but could I have ss m40 uniform in field grau, paired with Jack boots AND also have overseas side cap ( as listed below). To portray someone maybe in France or Russia? Could I have the SAME Jack boot m40 uniform combo And M43 Field caps as well ( so basically m40 uniform + Jack boots+ m43 field cap )? Would such a look exist , considering Jack boots weren’t common in late war and m43 field caps only came out in late war ?


If anyone could help me out and answer these questions I would be very appreciative and thankful. These are very very specific questions that I don’t think many people would care for generally for reenactment , but it bothers me and I want to make sure my uniforms are absolutely historically sound.

1. The "overseas cap" style field cap would have been worn by virtually every enlisted soldier in the field from 1940 until the introduction of the M43 cap in 1943. Many soldiers were still wearing this cap style in 1945.

3. Many people were still wearing "jackboots" (marching boots) in 1945 regardless of what uniform they had been issued. These things were not issued in matching sets.

Marching boots were not actually rare in 1945 and if you look at photos of units surrendering you will see lots.
