you do have to buy your own stuff, although some events are paid events (meaning you get a small amount of money) I do Living History re-enacting, we fire authentic weapons with blank bullets as apposed to the airsoft that other members do. I can give you a link to a 1ss re-enactment group in Australia

(btw i was paid for those pics)
Does this mean you need a firearms licence? Also, I think that group's based in Sydney (aarrgghh!! Noo! Dear God!). You can see where I live; good ol' Melbourne. I hope I'm not too young either; I'm "only" 15. Though you seem to look my age.

in America i can go down to the gun shop, fill out a page work of paperwork and walk out with any rifle i want (that is legal) so if your country laws say you have to have a licence then you a licence.

Isn't 21 the legal age to own a gun over there? Do re-enactment groups require a lot of commitment, one I could cope with?

Well, I'm a Reenactor in the U.S and i'm 16. My unit is that of the 12th SS "Hitlerjugend" Div. (Hitler Youth) and historically most of there ranks were very young (16-18). However will only allow ppl 18 and up to carry a firearm. Thats why im a Funker (Radioman). The age thing really depends on your unit.
Hope this helps,
Hans
