thats what i meant. very good conversions are possible but that damn seam is a problemSteve Das Reich wrote:Hi Dunkirchen1940,
There is nothing to stop you wearing Swedish conversions, if they have been properly converted, the problem of authenticity arrises when someone wears it as is, with no attempt to make it look right.

>Do you know any of this german soldiers who to this? Because it can be nice to get some informations about it in the own langauge and they can better show actual problems within the country!Steve Das Reich wrote:Hi Germania,
You may be surprised to know that a lot of genuine Duetshe Soldaten come to UK and re enact, not to mention some French, Dutch, Belgium and god knows who else.
It is not illegal to wear German uniforms and insignia, etc, in the UK.

Germania,
You might try contacting Herr Frankenberger, the person who runs the web site http://www.kommiss.de. (E-mail: collection@kommiss.de). He has been at events in the UK and the US as a vendor, and when I met him in January in Pennsylvania USA he was wearing a Luftwaffe uniform so I believe he might know about other German reenactors. When I was in Bremen last year I met a man who had a small militaria shop who attends events in the UK as a Heer soldier but I do not know how to get in touch with him. The name of the shop in Bremen is "Historica".

I have found that you can reduce the effect of the seam by cutting the stitching where the seam has been folded, then pressing the inside with a steam iron. You still have the seam running down the back but it is less noticeable, especially when you have all your equipment on.Panzerfaust wrote:thats what i meant. very good conversions are possible but that damn seam is a problemSteve Das Reich wrote:Hi Dunkirchen1940,
