What's your source for 300.000?Never heard about that...
And how many your source says for other uniforms (m40, M43..)?

So what happened to the estimated 300,000 M36 tunic produced?
they were destryoed, phased out, maybe recycled? and used for officer uniforms

Good question. From my (limited) knowledge of the subject, I was under the impression that the German soldier did everything in his power to hang onto their original issue kit until it was past the point of no repair.

Presumably the dead were buried in their uniforms, which would take into account the relative scarcity of early war uniforms by 1945.

Then again, I have seen Volkssturm men wearing a wide variety of outfits, including Reichswehr ones, in 1945. The German industry was not equipped to issue brand new clothing across the board amd a lot of uniforms were reconditioned for reissue (One recycling centre was in Straubing I think).

The major problem comes down to the people who run the club. If they say "You will wear M1943 tunics or you won't be allowed on the field" then there isn't a lot you can do.
