For reenactment purposes, besides the excellent repro ankle boots at ww2boots.com, what is the other renactors' opinions on the closest things to them for comparison.

I've seen everything from gebrigsjager boots to british garrison boots.

and no- doc marten boots don't count :lol:

Another great Vendor that sells great German repro Ankle boots are Lost Battalions. The boots are great and last a life time, However the price is $350 :? but w/e still great boots and long lasting!!

i remeber a member of the unit i am in wore some redwing boots that looked exactly the same. Only problem is the hobnails wouldnt stick to the soles

another great maker of WWII german ankle low boots are grigsbymilitaria they make really great boots and arent as expensive then Lost battailions are. There around $225 but hobnails can be installed for $250

Canadian all purpose parade boots (commonly called Cadet boots) are acceptable. I just bought my in great shape for 35 (no tax) at Kensington Market (army stores sell them for 90). Extra 5.75 added a pair of horseshooes and another 5 $ bought me two packs of "hobnail" material.
