I'm in the 6 - SS Gebirgsjager Div. Nord. We are located in the Midwest, United States. Most of our members are in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio

:welcome:

I am not a reenactor but have friends that are (not in Michigan). They have to drive fairly long distances to attend events and you may find yourself in the same situation. Another option might be to work on forming a local squad attached to a larger, already established unit (if you don't want have to start from scratch).

A quick internet search shows what looks like an annual WWII reenactment at Chesterfield, Michigan called "Breakout: Operation Cobra Reenactment." It is coming up on 9-10 July 2016. Looks to be within a reasonable driving distance from Lansing and if you went, there are sure to be kameraden there that can help you further:

One of the units participating is the 2/SS Panzer Pionier Btl.5 "Wiking." They also have members in Michigan. They look like a very squared away unit, check 'em out:

The Wiking unit linked above is a member of an organization called the WWII Historical Reenactment Society that has been around for decades. They have a variety of German units attached and if you contact those with members in Michigan you will learn more:

Best of luck to you.

Every August our members of the 19th Latvian Waffen-SS Grenadier Division travel to Valga Estonia to take part in a little parade and small battle re-enactment commemorating the 1944 battle of the Tannenberg Line.

I haven't read the entire 20-page thread, but it seems there's little to nothing in Europe. Any groups in France?

Kriegsmarine Küstenartillerie - Coastal Artillery
We portray the green uniforms worn by the landbased units of the German navy and at the end of the war we portray Marine infantry units.
