Heh! That was dust in the air obscuring the camera lens.... It was taken in an old factory in the centre of Manchester where we filmed the History Channel Documentary just before XMas..... Further shots can be seen here

If you guys could have been with us last weekend at the 1st UK National - we set up in a disused ammunition bunker...... we hung paraffin lamps around the walls Some guys slept on straw, the lucky ones had cots, some (including one of our Unteroffiziers) slept on the floor wrapped in a blanket... we managed to have a wartime woodburning stove which we transported in our Kubelwagen. It provided a tiny bit of comfort.... we cooked on an open fire and ate the rations we had been issued..... The ghosts were all around us that night....... We had a veteran Fallschirmjaeger pay us a visit during the day and he sat at our stove...... He nodded and said "This is the nearest you will get to it" as he looked at the bleak surroundings and held his hand to the hot chimney..... The weather outside was cold, windy and very wet...... NO parkas, Wool uniforms and zeltbahns.... wool gloves and toques..... People found out just how far they could go in terms of roughing it and eating crap this weekend...... Modern living has really ruined us......

My Kriegsamrine Uniforms
Well we finally had a rest from the rain here and the blackflies weren't too bad so took the oportunity to get some pics of me in my different Kriegsmarine uniforms I require for my Kriegsmarine Kustenabteilung impression. I portray a ww1 vet recalled to service as a funker in the coastal artillery. I am a member of the Kriegsmarine Kustenabteilung, we have 3 units, the main one in the United States, one here in Canada, and one on the Island of Jersey. The Jersey unit gets to use real bunkers and emplacements. I made the blue wool midi, the white midi, as well as the blue wool top for my matrosenmutze. Here is a link to my website page with the pics of my uniforms: http://www.angelfire.com/on4/schultzsgt/pg01.html
