Good pix, Adam. While it's good they've finally cleared the way for redevelopment of the site, I think it's a bit of a shame that the only survivor on Voßstrasse is finally going to fall after amazingly remaining through all the upheavals Berlin has seen since the mid-30s.

FYI, this is a great site for news alerts on Nazi (WWII/Hitler related) news stories from all over the world. This is good for the research on many different subject relating to this period of history.

Yeah, I've been getting Joni's newsletter for a few years, now (since 2006)...there was a lull in e-delivery for a short time, but it's back in service now (at least to my mailbox). There's some pretty good reading there, and a lot of info and links to sort through.... :)

Here's the "ruins" page: http://hitlernews.cloudworth.com/third- ... places.php

Took some pictures of the last remaining pre war building on VossStrasse yesterday, its the former DeutscheReichsbahn building.
Some of the interior remains completely intact albeit DDR 'improvements'. The winged reichsbahn motif adorns every bar of the stairways, and the love of padded doors by the Party is in most rooms. Sadly much of the lovely wooded panelled rooms have been vandalised, but much of the oak is in good condition.
i also went into the Luftschutzkellar, again almost untouched. Will post them later today.

Went on to the former 'Wertheim' stores foundation and floor, and took some more pics of one of the bunker entrances. This site is under construction.

I'm sure they went to Moscow, on the "Russian Booty" train. :D
Very nice array of plaque images.

The correct translation of Kanzlei is chancellery ("a chancellor's court or office"), not chancery, which is the name of an English law-court.

And there you have it folks, today's edition of "Corrections With Carr"! Tune in next week when our lovable Adam expounds on the myriad incorrect spellings of words, such as "Adolf/Adolph" and "deutschland/doitchland"....it's almost like having your old school marm in the room with you! :|
